Responsibilities
Perform manual billing functions and support billing for complex and high visibility accounts with specialized rates
Conduct monthly billing testing and validation for all four jurisdictions
Respond to audit and regulatory data requests with accuracy and timeliness
Maintain strong awareness of applicable regulatory rates, tariffs, and jurisdictional requirements
Troubleshoot billing system issues and collaborate with IT to resolve discrepancies
Analyze new rates, special contracts, and billing impacts to ensure alignment with regulatory standards
Identify anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Apply knowledge of SOX controls and internal audit expectations to ensure all billing processes are compliant and properly documented
Identify inefficiencies and help streamline billing workflows
Support initiatives that enhance data quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Collaborate with internal partners including Regulatory, Meter Services, Customer Operations, Corporate Tax, and IT
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, data analytics, or related field
Requires at least 2 years of experience with complex billing systems or utility operations
Demonstrated analytical experience—particularly in investigating anomalies and resolving issues through cross functional collaboration
Strong ability to analyze data, recognize patterns, and apply logical reasoning
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers
Professionalism, tact, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
Sound judgment and the ability to adapt to changing requirements
Preferred
Familiarity with regulatory rate structures and/or SOX control environments is highly preferred
Knowledge of Oracle customer information systems preferred
Understanding of metering processes, regulatory tariffs, Terms and Conditions, Billing Practices, regulatory rates, and SOX control requirements are highly valued
