Responsibilities
Lead security awareness programs tailored to university and research environments
Conduct workshops, presentations, and training sessions
Develop educational materials (FAQs, guides, intranet updates) in partnership with Communications
Promote a strong security-first culture across faculty, researchers, and staff
Represent the organization in internal meetings, committees, and industry events
Act as the primary cybersecurity liaison for academic and research leadership
Identify and escalate domain-specific risks; coordinate mitigation strategies
Support compliance with policies and regulatory frameworks (FERPA, NIST CSF, CIS)
Facilitate tabletop exercises and assist with departmental incident response
Manage cybersecurity awareness and risk engagement initiatives
Provide feedback to improve security programs and processes
Support executive‑level communications and reporting
Define and lead security roadmaps aligned with business goals
Embed practical and sustainable security controls into daily operations
Develop and execute strategies to increase adoption of cybersecurity initiatives
Conduct impact analyses and stakeholder assessments
Track progress, adjust strategies, and maintain transparent communication
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
5–7 years in Information Security, GRC, cybersecurity project management, or awareness training
3+ years leading cross-functional initiatives or projects
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
Experience influencing stakeholders and driving security adoption
Broad cybersecurity understanding with hands‑on GRC or program experience
Preferred
Experience in higher education or research environments
Consulting or operations management background
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP
