Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive hospice nursing care using sound clinical judgment and the nursing process
Supervise and evaluate Hospice Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses/Vocational Nurses to ensure quality patient care
Conduct patient assessments and promptly communicate significant changes in condition to the physician
Document all patient communications accurately and timely within medical records
Perform periodic supervisory visits and update plans of care regularly, collaborating with physicians and care teams
Maintain compliance with state-specific nursing regulations and agency policies
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
active registered nurse (RN) license
minimum 1+ years RN experience
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license valid for practice in the assigned state; Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) compliance if applicable
Current CPR certification
Ability to assess diverse patient needs and to utilize computer software for documentation and communication
Reliable transportation, a current drivers license, and liability insurance as required for home visits
Preferred
two years nursing experience preferred for certain states
