Responsibilities
Provide quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting
Deliver compassionate, skilled nursing care to a variety of patient populations across several specialized inpatient units, including medical telemetry, surgical orthopedics, and cardiac care
Manage patient assignments in units ranging from 12 to 48 beds with varying acuity, such as congestive heart failure, respiratory illnesses, orthopedic surgical procedures, diabetic complications, and cardiac arrhythmias
Utilize clinical expertise in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, peripheral IV starts, chest tube and drain management, and medication drip administration such as cardiac drips and blood products
Work in a supported departmental environment featuring CNAs, phlebotomy teams, respiratory therapists, and in-house hospitalists and intensivists
Maintain EMR experience with Epic and proficiency in equipment like IV pumps and monitors to support efficient patient management
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
Active registered nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1+ years RN experience
Active RN license with at least 18 months of MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience
Clinical expertise in stroke care
Cardiac rhythm interpretation
Tracheostomy care
Peripheral IV starts
Chest tube and drain management
Medication drip administration such as cardiac drips and blood products
Certification in BLS
Certification in ACLS
Certification in NIHSS
EMR experience with Epic
Proficiency in equipment like IV pumps and monitors
Preferred
Experience working in orthopedic surgical units
Familiarity with spinal precautions
