Responsibilities
Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:3-4 during shifts
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, CNAs, paramedics, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and mid-level providers
Monitor telemetry as required, using bedside and nurse station equipment
Ensure adherence to clinical protocols in a fast-paced emergency department
Participate in orientation to learn unit flow and systems
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
active registered nurse (RN) license
minimum 1+ years RN experience
Minimum of 2 years ER nursing experience
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
Strong skills in PIV starts, blood cultures, chest tubes, code blue response, and triage
Pediatric experience highly valued
Proficiency with EPIC charting system
Preferred
Preferred certifications: CPI/MOAB, ENPC
Preferred skills: arterial lines, critical care, central line placement, thoracentesis, and charge nurse experience
Experience with Alaris pump and Pyxis medication dispensing preferred
