Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate a team of CPS Workers, providing clinical consultation and direction on complex case decisions
Review and approvesafety plans, court summaries, and case assessments to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards
Facilitate unit meetings and case conferences to brainstorm interventions and resolve barriers to permanency
Monitor staff caseloads and performance metrics, ensuring all statutory deadlines for investigations and home visits are met
Liaise with community partners, including judicial officers, law enforcement leaders, and service providers to strengthen the local child welfare network
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience performing social services, probation and enforcement services, or community support and welfare services for adult and child protection
Valid driver's license
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Maintain detailed case records and extensive documentation
Successful completion of a background check is required for employment
Applicants hired into this classification must obtain licensure as a social worker from the West Virginia Board of Social Work within a timeframe established by the appointing agency
