Responsibilities

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work
Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organization, ensuring that engineering work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and goals and objectives that integrate organization and engineering objectives
Perform multidisciplinary professional engineering work
Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations

Required

A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in engineering or a closely related field is required
U.S. Citizenship is required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
Employee must maintain current certifications
This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
Specialized experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service
Basic Qualification Requirement: You must meet one of the following qualification requirements by the closing date and provide documentation to support your qualifications: A. Degree: Have a Bachelor's Degree in professional engineering from a curriculum (1) in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineer curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (beyond first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics; (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering

Preferred

The ideal candidate will have significant technical experience in test support, with demonstrated experience in Asset Management and Sustainment for large industrial plant facilities with complex mechanical systems, instrumentation, data acquisition, and controls systems
They will be familiar with Fitness for Service Assessments, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) to support asset availability and meet the operational demands of the Test Group
With a foundation in Systems Engineering principles and System Safety best practices, the candidate will be capable of operating with a high degree of independence to promote technical quality and maintain compliance
A strong working knowledge of ASME and NEC standards is important for making informed decisions that support effective technical integrity and safety for all Flight maintenance and sustainment activities
A cornerstone of this role is strong leadership and interpersonal skill. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated mentor, focused on developing the capabilities of their team members
They will excel at building collaborative relationships within the Flight and across the Squadron, fostering a positive team environment that thrives on communication and mutual support to achieve shared mission objectives
