Engineering Equipment Operator (Road Construction Worker)
USAJOBS is seeking an Engineering Equipment Operator to operate engineering and construction equipment for the Department of the Air Force. The primary purpose of this position is to perform functions such as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling materials while constructing, maintaining, and repairing pavements and roads.

Responsibilities
Operate one or more types of heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials, such as sand, gravel, earth, coal, moving and covering refuse, and clearing brush, rocks, tree stumps, and other material
Maintain, repair, and construct flexible roads, pavements, parking areas, airdromes, bike paths, or similar surfaces of asphalt
Maintain, repair, and construct rigid pavement or similar cement and concrete surfaces
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment
Use and maintain tools and equipment

A current/valid CLASS 'A' CDL license is required by law to operate combination vehicles over 26,000 lbs. with a towed unit that weighs over 10,000 lbs. 'gross vehicle weight' for the position
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5716
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Operation of Motor Vehicles, Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order), Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation), Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles), Ability to Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle), Reliability and Dependability as an Engineering Equipment Operator (Road Construction Worker)
