Security Specialist (Badge & Credentials)

Responsibilities
Conducting employee vetting to process and issue CBP official badges and credentials to qualified CBP employees
Providing technical assistance and direct support to headquarters and field management staff in a variety of matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to meet the CBP Badge and Credentialing Program needs
Conducting detailed analyses of various types of CBP badge and credential issuance and inventory data and developing analytical reports, findings, briefings, spreadsheets, and/or databases for use by CBP management as required
Advising and analyzing problem definitions, planning methodologies, policies, and procedures
Evaluating the content of new or modified legislation, statutes, directives, and policies for projected impact upon agency programs

CBP follows the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan for drug testing procedures
Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Taking and recommending actions to achieve organizational objectives, and future program objectives and improvements; Supporting customer service for all current and former agency personnel with daily receipt, review, handling, distribution, and response to inquiries and requests; Helping with the review of agency Badge and Credentialing Program policies, processes, and procedures, serving as subject matter expert to supervisors, managers, and executives regarding the issuance, control, accountability, and official use of agency official badges and credentials; Providing initial comments, impact statements, and recommendations on issuances for executive and managerial consideration
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Developing and implementing information security policies and procedures by analyzing Executive Orders, Federal laws, and regulations to ensure compliance; Conducting inspections of information security programs by reviewing classification actions and initiating corrective measures to address deficiencies; Delivering Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) programs to employees, ensuring adherence to classification, safeguarding, and access control protocols; Analyzing and resolving complex information security issues by evaluating classification methods and developing tailored solutions; Collaborating with senior leadership and federal agency representatives by providing expert guidance on security policies and procedures
