Responsibilities

You will plan daily and weekly work schedules, establishing priorities on the basis of general work schedules, methods, and instructions from higher levels of supervision
You will assign work to subordinates and instruct them on work requirements, methods, and procedures as needed, defining the standards of quantity and quality to be met, and is accountable to superiors for the quantity and quality of work performed
You will inspect work while in progress and at completion
You will change work plans, work assignments, and methods as necessary to reduce or control costs and maintain the schedule
You will keep supervisors informed concerning work progress, technical and personnel problems, material, and manpower requirements
You will supervise Production Machinery Mechanics
You will coordinate work with other departments, shops, and codes
You will troubleshoot maintenance repairs for production equipment

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position requires rotating shift work
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
You must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements
