Senior Integration Engineer – Partner Platforms
SoTalent is looking for an experienced integration engineer to join a team responsible for building and operating critical technology connections for a consumer payments partnership. The role involves hands-on engineering and technical leadership to design and deliver secure, scalable integrations between enterprise systems and external partners.

Responsibilities
Act as a technical point of leadership within an Agile integration team, contributing to design, development, deployment, and operational support
Design and implement robust integration services and APIs that meet performance, reliability, and security expectations
Partner with product owners, architects, and external stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Promote strong engineering practices around API design, versioning, error handling, monitoring, and performance optimization
Guide and support other engineers through mentorship, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting modern integration patterns, tooling, and development practices
Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and source control standards to improve delivery speed and quality
Monitor API health and availability, lead troubleshooting efforts, and implement preventative solutions
Evolve integration standards and frameworks to improve interoperability and partner onboarding
Maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture, interfaces, and design decisions
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure alignment, transparency, and delivery excellence
Contribute to additional initiatives or technical projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of experience across multiple IT domains
OR equivalent professional experience (typically 8+ years) without a degree
Strong hands-on experience building and supporting REST-based services and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks
Experience using automated testing and API validation tools such as JUnit, Postman, or performance testing frameworks
Familiarity with cloud-native platforms and PaaS environments (e.g., AWS or comparable services)
Working knowledge of API management or gateway technologies
Solid understanding of secure, resilient, and scalable API architectures
Experience working within Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
Willingness to travel occasionally for business needs
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background screening, fingerprinting, and drug testing
Must meet applicable federal regulatory requirements
Authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available
Preferred
Background in financial technology, payments, or large-scale partner integrations
Experience designing or operating API gateways and enterprise integration platforms
Exposure to event-driven or message-based integration patterns
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
Ability to coach and uplift teammates in a collaborative environment
Curiosity and motivation to stay current with evolving integration, cloud, and API technologies
Familiarity with front-end frameworks or consumer-facing platforms is a plus
