Responsibilities

Process, review, and reconcile freight invoices, carrier payments, and client bills following up on any discrepancies
Monitor and analyze transportation-related expenses (fuel, storage, customs, etc.) to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency
SG&A: Create, distribute and analyze monthly SG&A Report. Analyze monthly intercompany charges and settlement of charges when applicable. Partner with FP&A to ensure completeness and alignment of SG&A budget and forecasts
Maintain updated and accurate documentation for assigned responsibilities (i.e., account reconciliations, budget/forecast assumptions and calculations)
Ensure accuracy of analysis and compliance with all standards and processes
Conduct and document complex ad hoc financial analyses, various special projects and initiatives
Partner with internal customers to achieve corporate strategic initiatives as well as adhere to the monthly financial close schedule
Assist in executing financial controls and accounting procedures that meet required SOX standards
Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits
Carry out supervisory and development responsibilities for indirect reports
Advanced Excel skills required; Microsoft ERP experience preferred

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Five to seven (5-7) years of accounting and financial analysis experience, or four to six (4-6) years of experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
Experience in financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of corporate finance concepts
High attention to detail and focused on data accuracy
Thorough knowledge of freight accounting and standard internal accounting control procedures
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
A self-starter who can work independently and efficiently on projects and key deliverables under time pressures and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
Advanced Excel skills required
