Responsibilities

Assist the Nutrition and Dietetics Department Head in the operational direction, leadership and management of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department within St George Hospital
Support the dietetics workforce to deliver high quality nutrition care to diverse patients/clients across the hospital’s services consistent with NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards
Coordinate clinical service delivery; plan, monitor and evaluate services; provide clinical supervision and support to staff; develop and implement innovative service models and initiatives
Contribute directly to the development of policy, with consideration of the strategic context
Manage a clinical caseload

Required

Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning
Extensive clinical experience within nutrition and dietetics
Demonstrated ability to provide high-level guidance, leadership, and strategic management of staff, resources, and services, with a strong focus on building team capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature
Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes while applying evidence-based practice to enhance clinical outcomes within the designated area
Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
