Responsibilities
Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reports of suspicious activity, disturbances, and medical or facility-related emergencies as directed by post orders
Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify conditions that may require attention
Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by monitoring authorized entry, checking identification when required, and directing individuals to appropriate departments and/or contacts
Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, and communicate observed issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision
Document incidents, patrol observations, and activities in written logs and reports, and notify appropriate personnel of noteworthy events in a timely manner
Provide assistance with de-escalation and conflict management, using professional communication and summoning additional resources when needed
Support facility operations by providing directions and information, assisting with lost and found items, and coordinating with clinical staff, maintenance, and local emergency services as required
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred
