Responsibilities
Enforce the rules of the swimming pools to promote enjoyment and safety; effectively communicate to parents/guardians, participants, staff, and supervisors; perform staff management duties including but not limited to training and scheduling; develops lesson plans following the Red Cross curriculum; care for and maintain equipment and the facilities; respond and assist with emergency situations and first aid; be hands on with participants and instructors during lessons when needed; monitor and assist staff/swimming lesson instructors with their job responsibilities; completes reports and paperwork related to swim lesson; performs other related duties that may be assigned by supervisors
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public.(Daily)
Regular timely/punctual attendance.(Daily)
Possess knowledge of pool rules, swim strokes and working with kids. (Daily)
Ability to effectively teach swimming skills to all ages of participants. (Daily)
Maintain and exhibit discretion at all times when handling confidential information.(Daily)
Ability to communicate in a professional manner to patrons and fellow employees.(Daily)
Ability to understand and follow emergency action plans. (Daily)
Oversee seasonal staff to ensure safety and rule enforcement at the swimming pools. (Daily)
Complete reports and documents for swim lessons. (Daily)
Use of computer. (Daily)
Qualification
Required
Requires adequate knowledge and previous experience with swimming lessons, customer service and lesson planning
Ability to demonstrate effective leadership, managerial, organization, and communication skills
Must be 18 years of age or older
Hold current Lifeguarding/CPR/AED certifications
Preferred
Water Safety Instructor certification preferred
