In this role, you will create detailed lighting designs, perform calculations using DIALUX, collaborate with suppliers, and generate accurate quotes to meet client specifications.

Responsibilities
Develop creative, functional lighting designs for commercial and industrial projects
Collaborate with our sales team as well as architects, engineers, and clients to understand project needs and deliver customized lighting solutions
Ensure lighting designs meet safety, aesthetic, and energy efficiency requirements
Open and fully understand DWG or similar files. Use DIALUX software to create detailed lighting calculations, including light level calculations, uniformity, and energy consumption analysis
Generate lighting simulations and photometric reports to visualize lighting effects and optimize layouts
Provide recommendations on the most efficient and cost-effective lighting solutions based on calculations
Collaborate with existing suppliers to source appropriate lighting products that meet design specifications, quality standards, and budget constraints
Review product catalogues and liaise with suppliers to ensure correct product availability, delivery schedules, and pricing
Assess the suitability of products in terms of design goals, performance, and energy efficiency, ensuring the correct product is selected for each project
Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, ensuring smooth communication regarding orders, product updates, and potential issues
Develop accurate and competitive quotes based on the lighting design, client requirements, and product specifications sourced from suppliers
Prepare detailed cost estimates for products, installation, and additional services, ensuring all costs are included in the quote
Clear understanding and inclusion of required profit margin per contract
Present proposals to clients, clearly explaining the design, product choices, and pricing structure
Work closely with our sales team to discuss the customer's vision, budget, and requirements for the lighting design
Present and explain lighting design concepts, calculations, and quotes, ensuring client satisfaction with the proposed solution
Provide recommendations for energy-saving and sustainable lighting practices, addressing client needs for both aesthetics and functionality
Assist the project management and installation teams to ensure that lighting designs and products are implemented correctly and on time
Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure designs and product selections are efficiently executed
Troubleshoot any issues related to product sourcing, availability, or installation during the project
Stay informed about new trends in lighting design, technology, and software updates for DIALUX
Continuously explore new suppliers and products to expand the range of available options for clients, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions
Perform daily product entries on the company website using a secure login
Pull detailed product information, specifications, and images from supplier websites and ensure accurate data entry
Manage product variants, such as size, color, Watt, Kelvin, Lumens, and specifications, as per the website’s structure
Receive training on the product entry process to ensure consistency and accuracy in data uploads
Regularly update and maintain the online catalog to reflect current inventory and new offerings
Qualification
Required
A degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred
2+ years of experience in lighting design and estimation, including proficiency in DIALUX for lighting calculations and simulations
Proven ability to create detailed and accurate quotes based on design specifications and supplier information
Strong understanding of lighting technologies and product specifications, including Kelvin, DALI, Lux levels, etc
Proficiency in DIALUX and/or other lighting design software
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and supplier interaction
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to assess and select appropriate products based on client needs, project specifications, and budget
Detail-oriented, with a focus on precision in calculations and cost estimations
A proactive approach to sourcing and problem-solving, with a deep understanding of both design and technical aspects of lighting
Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery of products from suppliers
Ability to manage relationships with multiple suppliers and vendors to ensure the best outcomes for clients
Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable lighting practices
Creative, with a passion for innovative lighting design solutions
Preferred
Certification or training in DIALUX software is highly preferred
