Responsible for managing assigned department functional roles such as design authority, configuration control, system and component monitoring and trending, operationability assessments, and causal evaluations with a focus on regulatory compliance and reliable plant operation
As a member of the leadership team, advises peers on technical challenges and actions associated with design bases, emergent issues and changing regulatory or industry technical standards
Ensures assigned department is able to make tactical and strategic recommendations based on current operating experience, benchmarking, trending, and licensing and design bases
Interfaces directly with fleet counterparts to ensure alignment and compliance with fleet standards and development of strategies for successful implementation of station and fleet initiatives
Responsible for managing engineering staff to ensure efficient and efficient production of engineering deliverables and provides framework for resolution of professional differences or conflicting requirements between engineering functional areas and cross-functional station and fleet organizations to support fleet and station goals
Exercises design authority as assigned for approval design and modification packages, design drawings, engineering specifications, calculations, tabulations, requisitions, bills of materials, test documents, procurement specifications, etc
Responsible for managing staffing and budget of assigned department within TVA governance and policy, to include staffing levels, performance management, workload prioritization and budgetary allocations
Responsible for ensuring training requirements and qualifications are maintained to meet current ACAD and TVA policies and guidance requirements and acts as training program owner for assigned department function
Responsible for fulfilling Emergency Preparedness roles and duty rotation roles
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Six years of experience in the engineering, construction, operation or maintenance of a nuclear power reactor, navy nuclear reactor or other nuclear plant experience such as DOE nuclear reactors
A broad knowledge of engineering theories, principles, practices, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements sufficient to manage multi-disciple production engineering
Demonstrated ability to supervise personnel, manage budgets, control projects, and schedules
Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions
