Recreation Leader II (Lead)- White Rock Splash Park Attendant
Cordova Recreation & Park District is seeking reliable and service-oriented candidates to serve as White Rock Park Splash Park Leads for the summer of 2026. The primary responsibility of the role is to oversee the Recreation Leader I - White Rock Splash Park Attendants, ensuring safety and compliance with park rules while managing daily operations and customer service.

Responsibilities
Provide direction to Recreation Leader I employees
Oversee the collection of money; make change, perform basic mathematical computations accurately; complete daily cash handling paperwork
Supervise participants and/or leads activities
Promote and enforce safety procedures; render First Aid and CPR, as required
Provide customer service and interpersonal skills during public contact and assist with any questions, conflicts, and phone calls
Perform opening and closing duties of a specific program or facility as necessary; report any problems or concerns to assigned supervisor
Prepare and maintain accurate program and other records as needed
Inventory and ensure orderliness of program equipment, supplies, and storage area; perform general maintenance, including wiping down tables and removing trash
Act as Department representative to local residents, community groups, private businesses, and others concerning questions, problems, concerns, and activities in the provision of recreation programs and facility operations
Attend all trainings when provided
Perform related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Two (2) seasons of experience working in recreation programs, leading and supervising group activities
Possession of First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background checks
A clear tuberculosis screening is required
Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of assigned recreation activities and programs
Knowledge of group recreational and social activities
Knowledge of a variety of activities for youth including facility and equipment use
Knowledge of techniques, principles, and procedures used in supervision of recreation programs and facilities
Knowledge of rules and equipment utilized in athletic and recreational programs and activities
Knowledge of appropriate safety precautions and procedures within the area of assignment
Knowledge of principles and practices of record keeping
Ability to implement activities in support of assigned recreation program
Ability to effectively handle and diffuse disruptive behavior among program participants
Ability to communicate tactfully with customers and address public and customer questions and concerns
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner
Ability to ensure safe and proper use of recreation facilities and equipment
Ability to administer first aid and CPR
Ability to gather, analyze, and report information
Ability to maintain records and prepare simple reports
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Benefits
Sick Leave: All part-time and seasonal employees who work 30 or more days for the District within a year will be issued forty (40) hours of sick leave. Sick leave will be accrued on the date of hire but may not be used until after 90 days of continuous employment from the first date of work. An annual grant of hours will be deposited every one-year anniversary to be available for the following twelve months not to exceed a cap of 40-hours.
