Responsibilities
Supervise and schedule daily maintenance operations to support safe, efficient, and consistent service delivery, and balance workload between scheduled and unscheduled maintenance based on operational priorities and staffing
Assign and manage technician work assignments and staff performance
Monitor and ensure adherence to preventative maintenance programs and proactively address issues to ensure compliance
Monitor and analyze service level agreement (SLA) key performance indicator data and reports to evaluate performance trends and enable informed decision-making in support of annual objectives
Provide program level decisions to ensure availability and turnaround time goals are met
Champion safety programs and initiatives through visible leadership and consistent reinforcement
Promote workplace safety by exhibiting, supporting, and promoting safety program objectives, initiatives, and corrective actions, through active oversight and follow up
Implement and enforce safety protocols and corrective actions by clearly communicating expectations, addressing issues promptly, and following through to resolution
Manage the purchasing of parts, supplies, tools, and services, to support operational needs, adhering to City procurement policies
Process invoices and monitor budget expenditures, to ensure accuracy, accountability, and alignment with operational priorities
Oversee procurement card purchases and fleet communications in a consistent and policy-compliant manner
Conduct staff performance evaluations and support career development through clear expectations, timely feedback, and documented follow-through
Requisition materials and equipment to support daily operations and maintenance needs
Utilize various computer software programs to track work, communicate information, and support operational reporting
Prepare and maintain detailed reports and records to support accountability, compliance, and informed decision-making
Handle general office functions, including accident reporting and billings with accuracy and attention to required timelines and procedures
Respond to emergency situations as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience developing and applying policies, procedures, and standard practices to support the daily operations of a diverse team and work unit
Experience leading and facilitating change management to support organizational and operational transitions
Experience ensuring work is completed on time and within budget by managing schedules, tasks, and resources
Ability to supervise vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance procedures, including inspections, preventative maintenance and recommendations for replacement or disposal
Ability to prepare and administer a budget and evaluate a vehicle maintenance program
Ability to lead meetings, and clearly explain goals, expectations, and priorities to staff
A valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record
