This role involves developing, evaluating, and managing cost-effective engineering projects that support core manufacturing and facility operations.

Responsibilities
Take ownership of designated utility systems and act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for related technical areas
Execute and manage small to mid-sized engineering projects with limited oversight, from initial planning through implementation
Analyze process and equipment designs, contributing to drawing reviews and technical documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve service issues and propose performance improvements
Apply engineering methodologies such as FMEA, statistical process control, and process modeling to troubleshoot and improve systems
Ensure all engineering activities align with internal policies and comply with city, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations
Identify and implement energy efficiency opportunities within facility operations
Oversee the work of technicians and coordinate contractor activities as part of project execution
Support knowledge transfer and staff training related to equipment and utilities
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or closely related discipline)
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an engineering capacity, ideally within a GMP-regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or high-volume food production
Demonstrated experience managing facility utility systems (e.g., purified water, steam, HVAC, clean air systems)
Ability to manage projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including contractors and technicians
Preferred
Practical knowledge of critical systems like reverse osmosis (RO) and water-for-injection (WFI) is highly preferred
Familiarity with commissioning, validation, and project documentation in a regulated setting
Working knowledge of automation or control systems is a plus
