Principal Deputy Clerk - Customer Service

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking assistance from the Clerk’s Office
Answer customer inquiries and direct phone calls to the appropriate divisions within the office
Issue concealed handgun permits, notary commissions, minister authorizations, and other certificates/licenses
Handle the intake and processing of various criminal and civil documents
Process and receipt payments from customers
Perform end-of-day cash reconciliation and closing procedures
Prepare and submit monthly reports to state and local agencies
Administer oaths for state and local appointments
Complete other duties or special projects as assigned by the Clerk of Circuit Court

Required

High school diploma or GED
Three years of previous office and/or customer service experience preferably in the court, legal, real estate, mortgage banking or credit bureau industry
Experience with standard office equipment and software
Knowledge of standard office procedures and complex legal procedures/terminology
Demonstrated skills in oral/written communication
Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Meeting tight deadlines
Attention to detail
Public relations/customer service
Utilization of state-of-the-art technology and work proficiency
Pre-employment drug testing
FBI criminal background check
Education/degree verification

Preferred

College degree preferred
Experience in a customer service environment, court/legal setting is preferred
