Paralegal - Real Estate Energy
CMS UK is seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join their Legal Services Unit. The role focuses on supporting energy clients with English law transactions, including negotiating easements and assisting with purchases and leases.
Law Practice
Responsibilities
Managing a busy caseload of transactions including liaising with the client to obtain instructions
Drafting the acquisition documentation, negotiating with the counterparty to the transaction and carrying out title reviews
Assisting with file opening procedures including preparing first draft of retainer letter and ensuring compliance with money laundering regulations
Working with data rooms and online trackers
Managing completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing and client signing / reporting requirements
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Real Estate Paralegal
Ability to manage a busy caseload of transactions
Experience in drafting acquisition documentation
Experience in negotiating with counterparties
Experience in carrying out title reviews
Experience with file opening procedures including preparing first draft of retainer letter
Knowledge of compliance with money laundering regulations
Experience working with data rooms and online trackers
Experience managing completion and post-completion registrations, forms, filing and client signing/reporting requirements
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to work well in a team
Strong academic background
Degree in law or equivalent qualification
Working towards CILEX or previous time-served Paralegal experience in a Real Estate background
