Responsibilities
Lead the design of HVAC control systems for data centers, including control architectures, schematics, and points lists
Produce detailed control drawings using AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio
Develop clear, technically robust sequences of operation for complex mechanical systems
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and commissioning teams to ensure design intent is fully executed
Review vendor submittals, design packages, and equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements
Provide design-related support during installation and commissioning
Ensure all designs meet industry standards, client specifications, and mission-critical best practices
Qualification
Required
Proven experience designing HVAC controls for data centers (cooling topologies, redundancy strategies, critical-environment requirements)
Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems and control strategies
Proficiency with AutoCAD or Visio for producing control drawings
Ability to write and interpret sequences of operation and control logic
Solid understanding of BMS/BAS fundamentals (DDC, PLC, BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
Relevant engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, controls, or related field)
Preferred
Familiarity with major BMS platforms (Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Johnson Controls)
Experience supporting commissioning or site validation
Knowledge of energy-efficiency strategies or analytics tools
