Responsibilities

Collaborate with hardware design teams and suppliers to understand new project architectures and determine the appropriate safety standards and regulations

Apply Hazard Based Safety Engineering principles to evaluate the hazards and provide feedback to the design team to mitigate those hazards

Develop and execute test plans while leading a compliance testing team to extract key data, validate all safety goals against relevant standards and specifications, and resolve non-compliant issues through the most efficient and cost effective methods

Cultivate good working relationships with customers, external suppliers, agencies, and manufacturing to further safety goals. Help in developing strategy and roadmap for Safety initiatives to support power, cooling, and data center infrastructure

Travel domestically and internationally as business requires to communicate and document findings, risks and recommendations, and perform failure analysis for sustaining engineering teams of deployed products

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience

4 years of experience working in product safety, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree

Preferred

Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field

1 year of experience in technical leadership

Experience with procedures related to obtaining international product safety approvals (CB, CE, NRTL/C, BIS CRS, KC, RCM, BSMI, CCC, etc.)

Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, hi-pot testers, electronic loads, etc
