The role involves leading the piping design, producing 3D models, and ensuring high-quality mechanical designs are delivered efficiently and safely across multiple projects.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and maintenance of mechanical and piping specifications in line with industry standards and best practices
Develop, review, and maintain P&IDs, ensuring accurate documentation of design changes and MOC updates
Produce 3D CAD models for RNG and biogas facilities, generating isometric, fabrication, and installation drawings
Create facility layouts, skid designs, piping arrangements, and mechanical details for gas processing plants
Work closely with project engineering and project management teams to support multiple concurrent projects
Coordinate and oversee third-party engineering consultants and contract designers when required
Participate in design reviews and model walkthroughs using Navisworks and similar platforms
Generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and support procurement of piping, valves, and fittings within budget constraints
Develop and maintain standard drawing templates and support continuous improvement of design standards
Review operating data and project performance, providing engineering recommendations where appropriate
Support internal teams with clear, accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualification
Required
5+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, drafting, or 3D modelling within: Natural gas, Chemical processing
Strong experience with Plant 3D and intelligent 3D models
In-depth understanding of: P&ID development, Piping systems, specifications, and applicable codes, Mechanical drawings, schematics, and one-line electrical diagrams
Ability to interpret, convert, and integrate third-party engineering drawings into CAD models
Proven ability to deliver high-quality drawings on schedule across multiple projects
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail with excellent organisational and time-management ability
Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally with engineers, contractors, and project managers
Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a wider engineering team
Proficient in MS Office and standard engineering software
Ability to pass company, customer, and regulatory safety programs
Valid driver's licence and ability to travel occasionally
Successful completion of background and drug screening
Willingness to participate in ongoing safety and technical training
Preferred
Biogas / RNG (highly desirable)
