Responsibilities
Independently sets up and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Transports, installs, upgrades, and configures complex equipment and components
Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own function to troubleshoot and perform moderately complex repair work, rework, removal, and modifications to equipment as necessary
Sets up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform complex tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
Guides others and documents test results, KPIs, and other outcomes, and maintains malfunction records
Executes manual and automated test plans and provides input on test cases and test procedures. Reproduces and debugs complex issues. Documents changes to processes or SOP
Tracks the purchasing, shipping/transporting, receiving and usage of inventory and equipment for test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects
Qualification
Required
Works semi-independently with little supervision in a lab environment
General hardware assembly, firmware/OS flashing, and deployment of systems to test benches or racks
Troubleshoots general system boot or connectivity issues
Works with Custom CPU engineers across a wide range of areas and understands how to execute tests and collect data efficiently
May perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
Assignments are semi routine in nature
Work performed within generally defined parameters
Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems
Normally receives general instructions on most work
Requires good verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question
Assist with shipping/receiving and entering new hardware into inventory systems
Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; attention to detail is a must

High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 2+ years of Engineer Technician or related work experience (Work Experience should in a background that required troubleshooting, problem solving in an electrical engineering tech role)
