Responsibilities
Schedule and manage recreation programs, activities, and events
Serve as site leader of program site, overseeing the implementation of program activities, procedures, and goals
Develop and implement program curriculum, schedules, and timelines. Supervise other department staff, volunteers, and contractors
Facilitate problem-solving
Develop activities for group recreation and community events
Develop program objectives
Prepare and maintain reports and records of program activities
Set up and break down at City facilities and equipment; maintain facilities and equipment
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor in area of assignment
Qualification
Required
Minimum Age: 18 years of age
Equivalent to two years of paid or volunteer work as a group leader or lead worker in an organized, recreation or community service program with specific expertise or experience in program area of recruitment
Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain, a California Class C Driver License
Appropriate clearances from background check/fingerprinting and documentation of a negative skin test for TB within the last two (2) years are required
Be able to obtain certification in American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR and AED or equivalent within 90 days of employment
Preferred
Experience working with children in a sport setting, day camp, child care program, youth program or summer camp is desired
