Entry Level Associate Mechanical Engineer

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of naval nuclear reactors and training U.S. Navy Sailors. They are seeking an Entry Level Associate Mechanical Engineer to support the Submarine Reactor Plant Acoustics group, focusing on testing and development work for the submarine fleet.

Responsibilities

Analysis and interface with vendors on product design and acceptability
Design of reactor plant systems for future submarines
Resolution of fleet and new construction noise-related issues
Qualification as a Noise Test Engineer
Testing of plant components and systems both in laboratory settings and in the field
Development of advanced noise quieting technologies
Analysis and documentation of design submittals
Execution of testing and reporting of results
Research and documentation of new acoustic technologies

Required

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field
Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field
All candidates must be U.S. citizens
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter
All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707

Preferred

Ability to handle multiple assignments
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication will be essential in your ability to contribute effectively in a teaming environment
Strong written communication skills with an ability to articulate technical ideas in a clear and concise manner
