3+ years expFocus People is currently seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant with a strong foundation in maintaining financial integrity and performing detailed account reconciliations. The GL Accountant will work under broad supervision to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and report directly to the Accounting Director.

Responsibilities
Perform asset and liability account reconciliations
Reconcile general ledger balances to subsidiary ledgers
Identify and resolve discrepancies, including cleanup of federal and other fund source balances
Prepare adjusting journal entries to clear reconciling items
Compile and analyze complex financial data
Verify accurate posting of financial transactions in compliance with federal and state regulations
Complete account reconciliations to confirm the accuracy of the trial balance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum of three (3) years of professional-level accounting or closely related fiscal experience
At least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or lead worker role
Preferred
Experience in governmental accounting
Knowledge of state financial policies and procedures
Experience using PeopleSoft Financials
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
