Responsibilities
Perform mass and energy balance calculations
Conduct heating, heat-loss, and relief calculations
Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Design custom process equipment and skid-mounted systems
Specify, evaluate, and procure process equipment
Design piping systems for pilot and production applications
Support fabrication teams during build and assembly
Participate in experiments, process trials, and system testing
Assist with commissioning of R&D systems, pilot plants, skid units, and full-scale production systems
Prepare technical proposals and scopes of work for clients
Participation in safety programs and best-practice initiatives
Support of technical marketing and customer engagement activities
Vendor and contractor coordination
Development of process control specifications
Operation of R&D or small-scale chemical systems as required
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering
3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a chemical plant or plant design environment
Strong experience in manufacturing or hands-on engineering settings
Proficiency with AutoCAD (Autodesk)
Willingness to travel ~10% to customer sites
Self-motivated, comfortable working independently and in small, collaborative teams
Ability to work remotely when required
Preferred
PE license preferred, but not required
