Drafter Designer
Global Technical Talent is a leading provider of advanced sensing solutions, and they are seeking a Drafter Designer to support the development of market-leading thermal and sensing technologies. This role plays a critical part in transforming customer and engineering specifications into detailed fabrication and assembly drawings that support sales, marketing, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities
Prepare rough sketches and final drawings by interpreting customer specifications, engineering sketches, and supporting documents
Develop layouts for systems, sub-systems, and individual parts, identifying dimensions, tolerances, materials, angles, and curvatures
Apply standard design practices using welding, machining, manufacturing, and assembly drawing symbols and callouts
Perform mechanical design of enclosures, test fixtures, and detailed electronics packages using SolidWorks
Design components for milling, turning, injection molding, and sheet metal forming, considering manufacturability and part finishes
Generate fabrication and assembly drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.5 standards
Reverse engineer complex components and assemblies as needed
Maintain the engineering database, including data entry and backups
Resolve discrepancies by collaborating with engineers, vendors, technicians, and clients
Contribute to overall team objectives by supporting related tasks as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent technical school training
Minimum 7 years of experience in computer-aided drafting
Strong 3D modeling experience using SolidWorks
Proven background in mechanical design and layout, preferably in specialized packaging solutions
Solid mathematical skills for engineering calculations
Experience with machine processes, mechanical fabrication, materials, and assembly processes
Experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP Business Intelligence
U.S. Citizenship required
