Responsibilities
Apply deep subject matter expertise in ML, LLM and GenAI models
Invent new product experiences that enable novel advertiser and shopper experiences
Liaise with internal Amazon partners and work on bringing state-of-the-art GenAI models to production
Stay abreast of the latest developments in the space of GenAI and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
Define a long-term science vision for our advertising business, driven by customer needs, and translate it into actionable plans for the team of applied scientists and engineers
Elevate the team’s scientific and technical rigor, identifying and implementing best-in-class algorithms, methodologies, and infrastructure that enable rapid experimentation and scaling
Communicate learnings to leadership and mentor and grow Applied AI talent
Qualification
Required
PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or related field
10+ years of programming in Java, Python or related language
10+ years of applied ML experience in building complex, real-time systems involving AI, ML with successful delivery to customers
3+ years in LLMs, model fine tuning and prompt engineering
3+ years in digital advertising technology
Preferred
5+ years of IT implementation experience
Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
Experience managing data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Knowledge of compliance and security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
