Responsibilities

Design structures and/or foundations for industrial and commercial buildings, industrial facilities, electrical substations, and electrical generation stations
Work independently with minimal guidance from other engineers
Sign and seal structural drawings in various States
Develop and review design drawings, specifications, and calculations
Prepare structural calculations using Excel and MathCAD
Conduct site visits and structural field investigations
Work within a team-oriented environment to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines

Required

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
Minimum of Seven (7) years of foundation and/or above grade structural steel/concrete design in industrial and commercial building design, Generation Stations and/or Substation design experience
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from other engineers
Willing to sign and seal structural drawings in various States
Experience with Concrete and Steel Design (Expertise in either is acceptable)
Experience with Finite Element Analysis, preferably STAAD Pro and RISA 3D
Experience with Foundation Design, preferable with LPILE, Enercalc
Ability to develop and review design drawings, specifications, and calculations
Ability to prepare structural calculations using Excel and MathCAD
Ability to conduct site visits and structural field investigation
Work within a team-oriented environment (with other civil, electrical, mechanical engineers) to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with industrial sites, electric generating stations, and/or substations
Expert understanding of structural engineering codes and regulations including ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, AWS, and related

Preferred

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
While broad experience in both above and below grade design is preferred, expertise in either is acceptable
