Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all commissioning activities for assigned renewable power projects, ensuring adherence to company safety policies and quality standards
Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM startup teams, third-party testing contractors, and operations staff during commissioning and startup
Ensure projects achieve operational turnover with minimal lost time and high initial reliability
Maintain compliance with all contractual requirements, including:
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
Large Generator Interconnection Agreements (LGIAs)
Interface with Transmission Operators and Independent System Operators (ISOs) to meet energization and synchronization milestones
Manage and direct the Client’s onsite commissioning personnel
Collaborate closely with safety, engineering, construction, and quality control teams
Identify and resolve technical and constructability challenges related to Protection & Controls systems
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
3+ years of substation or Protection & Controls (P&C) commissioning experience
3+ years of relay testing experience, preferably as a Relay Technician or Relay Engineer
Hands-on experience with protection and control system implementation, testing, and troubleshooting
Strong ability to communicate effectively with both engineering teams on technical P&C issues
Construction teams on schedule, cost, and constructability concerns
Proven experience working on utility-scale power generation or transmission projects
Preferred
Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering preferred)
Experience with renewable energy facilities (wind, solar, BESS)
Prior owner's representative or field commissioning management experience
Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and grid compliance requirements
