Responsibilities
Work with the Motorsports Technology Group members and staff from the motorsports programs to develop, test, and race complex engineering solutions
Participate in new vehicle development through subsystem design, testing, and build tracking
Travel, as needed, to tests and races to observe the race engineering process and assist in testing of development activities
Participate in virtual development projects which can vary from vehicle dynamics simulation to software tools development
Research and capture the requirements/scope for development projects and participate the tracking of development to ensure alignment with customer expectations
Additionally, short-term projects may be identified which will help further the intern’s exposure to the motorsports industry and accomplish tactical projects
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in a university level engineering program – mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering degrees are most typical, but others will be considered
Candidates in their 3rd or 4th year of a university level program are preferred
Strong motivation to be a part of the motorsports industry
Travel of up to 20% is required
