Responsibilities

The Light Automotive Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance services, diagnosing and repairing of automobiles and light trucks to include drivability, suspension systems, brake systems, engine, and transmission
The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing commercial and diesel vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery to include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics, troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit), and maintaining routine maintenance schedules on all heavy equipment
The Fire Apparatus Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing fire apparatus to include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics, troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit), and maintaining routine maintenance schedules

Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D
Valid driver's license
Commercial Driver's License within 12 months according to area of assignment
6 months automotive or heavy truck/equipment experience
Must be able to work four 10-hour shifts from 7:00am-6:00pm (Mon-Thurs or Tue-Fri)
Schedule is subject to change according to business needs
Four (4) years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles
Four (4) ASE certifications in area of assignment OR Any combination of verifiable industry or manufacturer specific certifications will be considered, at the department's discretion, in lieu of ASE Certifications when applicable. ASE Certifications will be required within 12 months of employment
A/C Recycle Recovery Certificate within 90 days of employment
Five (5) years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles
ASE Master certification in area of assignment OR Any combination of verifiable industry or manufacturer specific certifications will be considered, at the department's discretion, in lieu of ASE Certifications when applicable. ASE Certifications will be required within 12 months of employment
Refrigerant License within 90 days of employment
