Responsibilities
Performs professional aerospace engineering work involved in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to the acquisition, development, or sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment
Functions as the organization's technical specialist in design and development engineering for critical systems and subsystems
Performs complex and comprehensive analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects
Serves as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists, agency and/or Department of Defense (DoD) officials responsible for broad program operations

This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays

A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is highly desired
Experience in aerodynamic and aero-thermal wind tunnel testing, specializing in force & moment, loads, and high-rate data acquisition
Expert in instrumentation, data reduction, test matrix optimization, and statistically defensible test methods
Proficient in optical techniques (PSP/TSP, IR, Schlieren) and effective communication with technical teams and management
Knowledge of professional aerospace engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment
Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues
Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of aerospace vehicles, systems, equipment, and components
Knowledge of other engineering disciplines and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures
Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing
Preferred
Expert in wind tunnel testing including force & moment, aero-thermal, and loads test techniques
Expert on statistically defensible test methods and test matrix optimization
Expert on balance, axis system rotations, model attitudes, and wind tunnel conditions data reduction
Expert on data filtering and high-rate data acquisition techniques (e.g., continuous sweep modes)
Expert on instrumentation and data acquisition systems associated with aerodynamic and aerothermal wind tunnel testing
Knowledgeable on optical test techniques such as pressure and temperature sensitive paint, infrared thermography, Schlieren and shadowgraph
Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, customers, and management
