The role involves monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving problems on multiple iSeries LPARs while ensuring effective communication and adherence to service level agreements.

Responsibilities
Monitor multiple iSeries partitions for hardware/software error messages, performance, disk growth
Work incoming tickets from the ticketing system and create tickets for various IT support staff
Enter all problems and incidents into the ticketing system and provide ownership of tickets
Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with various business partners
Maintain backup tape rotation
Keep customers informed on all problems and incidents and provide good communication
Follow policies and procedures addressing problem identification, documentation, routing, escalation and resolution
Provide timely problem resolution to corporate and field associates in all locations
Make appropriate recommendations for changes and improvements in procedures to enhance service to management

Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3-4 years of system operations experience in a multiple system iSeries environment
Ability to handle issues within the System Operations Dept
Possess excellent verbal, reading, writing, comprehension and customer service skills
Knowledgeable of computers systems and of basic networking systems
Ability to prioritize many competing tasks, deal effectively with conflict and provide hands-on assistance to customers as needed
Must be available for On-Call status as required
Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
Must be able to interact well with others
Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
Must be able to lift approximately 10-15 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
Preferred
Experience, and/or proficiency with MS Office is a plus
