Responsibilities
Contact potential customers to explore servicing their freight needs on a contract, dedicated or for hire basis
Lead all pricing negotiations and contract management efforts with others in the transportation organization
Provide analysis and strategic direction in relation to all value proposition development and marketing
Create transportation capacity strategies and develop contingency plans to cost-effectively support varying levels of company sales and changes to supply/demand patterns
Establish and utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) that drive competitive costs and service
Analyze and assess industry and the market to determine modification to service offering
Build upon existing new relationships to drive sales in the transportation division
Advise senior leadership on all aspects of transportation and logistics
Ability to share in the profits of business success
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or related field or equivalent experience in relevant field
5–15 years of logistics experience in the sales field
Experience in complex distribution networks and international supply chains
Excellent knowledge of domestic and international transportation
Superior communication skills with the ability to market not only themselves but the services our firm offers
Understands the negotiation of transportation agreements and laws governing the industry
Expertise in all MS suite applications with strong Excel skills
Willing to be measured on a weekly basis
Time management skills, highly motivated in team and business success always
