Responsibilities
Lead and manage written discovery and document discovery (including strategy, drafting, and response preparation)
Research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings in commercial litigation matters
Conduct and defend depositions; work with senior attorneys on deposition strategy and exhibits
Prepare fact and expert witnesses for testimony, hearings, and trial
Appear at status conferences and argue motions in state and federal courts when appropriate
Participate in settlement conferences, mediations, and negotiation strategy sessions
Assist with trial preparation, including witness outlines, exhibit lists, pretrial filings, and trial binders
Work directly with partners and clients—helping drive case strategy and ensuring high-quality client service
Qualification
Required
3rd–4th year associate experience in Litigation - Commercial
Experience handling matters in state and federal courts
JD from an ABA-approved law school
Active member in good standing of the Texas Bar
Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills (motions, briefs, hearings)
Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple cases with professionalism and attention to detail
Preferred
Persuasive legal writing and confident oral advocacy
Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and team-first approach
Ability to interface directly with partners and clients
Organized, proactive, and motivated—able to take ownership of assignments
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
