They are seeking experienced Shipfitters to join their fabrication team in Charleston, SC, responsible for precision layout, fitting, and assembly of prefabricated components for advanced naval vessels.

Responsibilities
Lay out, fit, align, and assemble cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding
Perform machining operations such as straightening, grinding, burring, drilling, reaming, and countersinking to close tolerances
Select equipment and materials based on general instructions and job specifications
Set up and prepare materials for welding, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up
Repair or rework parts distorted by welding to restore required tolerances
Monitor and verify product quality using statistical process control or other inspection procedures
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
Collaborate with welders, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals
Maintain safety standards and adhere to all OSHA and company protocols
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Must pass a lifelong bg check
Must pass a hair follicle drug test
Hiring based on resume
At least 5 years of experience in shipfitting or the welding/fabrication industry
