Responsibilities
Analyze, design, implement, troubleshoot, maintain, and manage enterprise network infrastructure to meet organizational requirements
Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and patch:
Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
Routers
Firewalls and VPNs
Wireless infrastructure
Secure all network connections following HIPAA and industry best practices
Manage and monitor WAN and LAN traffic to ensure optimal performance and security, including:
VoIP and phone systems
Video conferencing platforms
Real-time application traffic
BYOD and mobile device connectivity
Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues, analyze logs and traffic, and provide detailed root cause analysis
Evaluate, test, and propose network enhancements to improve reliability, scalability, and performance
Design, deploy, and manage AWS-based infrastructure, including networking, security, and compute services
Lead and support application migration from on-prem environments to AWS, including:
Lift-and-shift migrations
Re-platforming and modernization efforts
Hybrid and multi-cloud integrations
Implement and manage AWS networking components such as:
VPCs, subnets, route tables
Security Groups and NACLs
VPNs and Direct Connect (as applicable)
Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and software-driven infrastructure at scale
Ensure cloud environments meet HIPAA, security, availability, and disaster recovery requirements
Manage software upgrades, patching, and security risk posture services
Perform, maintain, and test system backups and restores
Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution
Build and enhance automation and repeatable processes for infrastructure deployment and management
Ensure uptime, performance, reliability, scalability, security, and high availability of critical infrastructure
Participate in rotating on-call support
Support and resolve day-to-day tickets and requests across varying levels of urgency
Interface with System Administrators, Database Administrators, and IT Architects on:
Infrastructure projects
Backup testing
Disaster recovery
Business continuity planning
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and processes
Lead, coach, and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 engineers, especially during critical outages or service disruptions
Perform root cause analysis and define corrective and preventive actions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or 5+ years of relevant professional experience
5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Network Administration or similar IT environments
5+ years working with corporate IT infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, wireless, data centers, and VPN technologies
2+ years of experience with SD-WAN configurations
5+ years of experience with VMware virtualization infrastructure
5+ years of experience with disaster recovery systems and methodologies
Proven experience managing network architectures supporting multiple on-prem data centers, 20+ sites, and 1,000+ devices
Hands-on experience with Layer 3 and above networking protocols, including TCP/UDP load balancing, SSL/TLS termination, and HTTP/HTTPS traffic management
Working knowledge of Internet protocols such as DNS, LDAP, SMTP, etc
Proven expertise with Palo Alto Firewalls
Strong experience with Cisco technologies, including Servers, WebEx, Call Manager, UCCX, and Phone systems
Experience supporting AWS environments and cloud-based networking
Must be able to read and write English
Preferred
Experience with healthcare applications such as Epic Systems and claims platforms preferred
CCNP (preferred)
Cisco Certification – Specialist, Professional, or Expert
AWS Certifications (Associate or Professional) are a plus
Ability to speak Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is an asset
