Responsibilities
Perform and support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits and management review
Perform day‑to‑day accounting functions within Deltek Costpoint, including GL, AP, and project‑related accounting
Ensure accurate cost coding and compliance with company policies and federal requirements
Generate standard and ad‑hoc Costpoint reports to support accounting and management needs
Oversee and process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and timely payment
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Ensure AP practices comply with internal controls and audit standards
Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales/use tax, gross receipts, and other applicable state filings
Maintain compliance across multiple states and monitor changes in tax regulations
Support audits or inquiries related to state and local tax matters
Support internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and company standards
Assist with external audits, including providing schedules, explanations, and supporting documentation
Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (required)
Strong experience with accounts payable and general ledger accounting
Demonstrated experience with multi-state tax compliance and filings
US citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements
