Responsibilities
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans
Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Manage stock inventory and anticipate needed materials
Program mills and lathes by setting tool registers and calculating requirements
Set up and adjust machines including chucks, tools, and attachments
Load stock into position and verify settings by measuring positions and sample work pieces
Maintain specifications through observing and adjusting machining processes
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
Ensure safety by adhering to procedures and regulations
Document production processes and communicate with other shifts
Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in CNC programming and machine setup
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and engineering plans
Strong understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Ability to use calipers and conduct inspections
