Responsibilities
Manage a high-volume docket of mortgage foreclosure and collections matters from intake through resolution
Draft and review pleadings, motions, stipulations, affidavits, and settlement documents
Handle litigation issues arising in discovery practice, including motion practice and deposition-related disputes
Address contested matters, escalation issues, and time-sensitive court deadlines with minimal supervision
Support conflict resolution, enforcement strategy, and related appellate issues as needed
Appear in court for conferences, hearings, and proceedings; travel as required for appearances
Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams to keep matters moving efficiently
Help develop industry relationships and strengthen the firm’s market presence with institutional clients and partners
Qualification
Required
20 years of experience in creditors' rights (mortgage default, foreclosure, collections, and related litigation)
Licensed to practice in state and federal courts (additional state bar licenses are a plus)
Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases while maintaining quality and responsiveness
Strong leadership skills, clear client communication, and reliable professional judgment
Comfortable with travel for court appearances and handling matters independently
Juris Doctor (JD) required
Active Bar License required; additional state licenses are a plus
Preferred
Familiarity with key statutes and frameworks such as TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred
Strong legal writing, issue-spotting, and motion/brief drafting skills
Practical courtroom experience and comfort handling appearances regularly
Efficient workflow management with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes quickly and professionally
Client-first mindset with confidence advising on strategy, risk, and next steps
