Responsibilities
Identify, assess, and mitigate hazardous conditions and unsafe practices across the facility
Conduct regular on‑site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Serve as the subject-matter expert on federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
Develop and implement hazard controls and monitor their effectiveness
Recommend improvements to reduce workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental risks
Lead the creation and delivery of safety, environmental, and compliance training programs
Support new‑hire orientation for occupational health, safety, and environmental topics
Facilitate safety committee meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Compile, analyze, and report accident, loss, and exposure data; recommend corrective actions
Oversee injury and property damage investigations and manage the workers’ compensation program
Lead environmental compliance programs including hazardous waste, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right‑to‑know requirements
Partner with purchasing to ensure safety and environmental requirements are integrated into procurement decisions
Perform additional duties aligned with the overall function of the role
Qualification
Required
2–3 years of related experience in safety, environmental compliance, or industrial hygiene
Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements
Experience delivering hands‑on safety and environmental training
Ability to design, implement, and manage comprehensive safety and accident‑prevention programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (training, presentations, reporting)
Ability to lead teams, committees, and cross‑functional initiatives
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene concepts and practices
Preferred
BA/BS or AS degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred
