Aerotek is a well-known military supplier in Hampton Roads with a strong reputation in the industry. They are seeking an International Shipping Clerk to ensure export shipments are processed accurately and compliantly while managing documentation and coordination for international shipments.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, documenting any discrepancies or damages
Perform accurate visual checks on products prior to shipment to ensure compliance with customer, carrier, and export requirements
Prepare and package outbound international shipments using proper materials, crating, and military-grade standards when required
Generate all shipping labels and export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, airway bills) using internal WMS/ERP systems
Utilize WMS and ERP platforms to process orders, update shipment records, and maintain audit-ready documentation
Assign and verify HTS codes and ensure all export paperwork meets ITAR/EAR and destination-country regulations
Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to schedule pickups, resolve documentation issues, and track shipments through delivery
Report and communicate shipment issues such as delays, customs holds, or documentation corrections
Assist with inventory counts, cycle audits, and material movement to support warehouse accuracy and readiness
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant shipping and receiving area in alignment with ADS standards

Required

2–4 years of experience in warehouse shipping, with at least 1 year focused on international shipping
Working knowledge of export documentation, HTS classification, and Incoterms
Familiarity with ITAR/EAR or willingness to complete export compliance training
Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers
Strong computer skills in WMS/ERP systems and Microsoft Office
High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling compliance-sensitive shipments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment

Preferred

Experience with Oracle, Salesforce, SAP, and data entry
Proficiency in reading work orders and email communication
Knowledge of hazmat handling and international shipping procedures
