Technical Service Senior Director - Solar PV

AD Energy is working in partnership with a global industry leader in solar and smart energy to recruit an exceptional senior appointment- Director of Service and operations. The ultimate responsibility of this position will be to manage and coordinate all local technical service functions and lead the technical support and field service teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

Be the most senior point of contact for service and technical support related matters in the Australian region and to HQ
Define, execute and re-evaluate each individual local technical support and maintenance service strategy, in some cases with local country service manager
Set, strive towards, and surpass operational and service performance targets set- monitor KPI /SLA’s
Lead and supervise the area Technical Support and Field Service Engineer workers in training
Manage highest level technical escalations and product issues with Company Head Quarters
Collaborate and follow up with Technical R&D and Service Counterparts Teams to resolve outstanding issues
Assess and implement an effective process for the resolution of technical escalations in a timely manner
Consult with Product Management and Technical Marketing teams to action product change requests from design and service
Ensure a cohesive understanding across the technical, service and maintenance workers about the service plan, procedures, and technical service quality to be delivered
Input and contribute to the area and wider Service Training Plans
Conduct internal team meetings to ensure all service sub team agendas are aligned and the technical service team continue to provide the highest service offering to the clients
Deliver in house and team service training and education on service delivery, development and processes
Ensure that there is continual service and operations process improvement
Be proactive with B2B (B2C) clients, understanding their technical service requirements and queries
Manage and revaluate local technical service partners
Collate and present regular technical issues and service reports for the use of HQ service and R & D use

Required

A minimum of 10 years' working in a service, maintenance and technical support leadership position within an international organization
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a team leadership and management position within a service support, technical, or maintenance discipline capacity
Demonstrated experience with accelerating and optimizing a technical service maintenance department: technical support engineers/ field service engineers/ service leaders
A work history as a technical or service support engineer would be advantageous
Direct experience within the Energy Storage, Battery Storage, Solar, PV, and Smart Renewable Energies industries is highly preferred, if not a you must have worked with highly- technical or electrical power orientated products
A technical electronics or electrical engineering background
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Strong independent leadership skills
A team player who is willing to lead by example but also very proactive and hands-on
Acute attentional detail and excellent problem skills
Experience working in an international, fast-paced and high- pressure environment- prioritise conflicting or heavy agendas
