Responsibilities
Meet with clients to understand goals, assess risk, and build litigation strategy
Investigate claims and defenses by interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence
Draft and argue motions (dispositive and non-dispositive), including strong written briefing
Manage written discovery: interrogatories, requests for production, admissions, and responses
Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and third parties
Prepare for and appear at hearings, including arguing on behalf of clients
Support and conduct hearings and trials as needed, including witness prep and trial organization
Help clients finalize and execute settlement agreements and ensure compliance with terms
Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and litigation budgets to keep matters on track
Qualification
Required
Minimum 6 years of civil litigation experience (law firm experience preferred)
Motion practice experience is essential (brief writing + argument readiness)
Comfortable running cases through discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
Strong client communication skills and a practical, solutions-driven approach
Ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical ability
Confident deposition and discovery management skills
Effective courtroom presence for hearings (and trial support as needed)
Strong verbal communication and client-service mindset
Organized case management and detail-oriented execution
