Network Operations Center Technician
Prairie Consulting Services is seeking a NOC Technician to join their fast-paced Network Operations Center supporting critical 9-1-1 call handling systems. The role involves monitoring and supporting telecom networks, responding to incidents, and troubleshooting network issues in a real-time environment.
Responsibilities
Monitor and support enterprise and telecom networks in a NOC environment
Respond to alerts, outages, and service-impacting incidents in real time
Troubleshoot IP connectivity issues, routers, switches, servers, and endpoints
Perform incident triage, escalation, and resolution within SLA timelines
Use ServiceNow for Incident, Change, and Problem Management
Coordinate with engineers, field technicians, and vendors
Provide customer-facing support via phone, email, and ticketing portals
Maintain accurate documentation during outages and operational events
Support remote, cloud, and telecom infrastructure operations
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of IP networking and interoperability standards
1+ year troubleshooting IP connectivity and network hardware
Experience troubleshooting routers, switches, servers, and endpoints
Hands-on experience with VPNs, BGP, MPLS, and SIP
Ability to interpret network diagrams and topology documentation
Comfortable working under pressure in a 24/7 operations environment
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
US Citizenship required
Must pass CJIS background check prior to start
Preferred
Experience in a NOC, Telecom, or Call Center environment
Certifications such as Network+, CCST, or CCNA
ITIL certification
Exposure to AWS cloud monitoring/surveillance
